Octavia Hatch - folding rear seats

Featured Replies

Needed to fold down the seats for extra boot capacity in my Octavia Hatch. Spent ages trying to work out how to tip the seat base then gave up and just folded down the back.

I was sure that when I dropped the back seats on my last Octavia, the seat base tipped up against the front seats then the back folded to leave a step, but otherwise a level floor.

With the back folded onto the seat base the floor has a slope.

Has it changed in the FL or am I getting old and confusing it with my previous cars? :wonder:

I'm pretty sure that the base of the back seats are immovable in the FL.

It lifts up from the back on my pre-FL, but you need to lift the front of the base up first, then the back should lift easily enough? You can remove them altogether fairly easily too-just squeeze the two metal rods (connecting them to the car bodywork) together, then remove?

Doubt it has changed on the FL?? :wonder: :giggle:

So I am at least remembering my pre FL correctly - marbles are intact :giggle:

Time to rtfm when I get home tonight to see if the FL is different :wonder:

Edit: just remembered the online User Manual - there on page 72 is the description exactly as above. Now really confused! Maybe I didn't pull hard enough! MArbles intact but muscles wasting away :'(

Edit 2: just got home - tried again - wasn't pulling the front up hard enough!
