fan running

Featured Replies

Hi folks. I've just arrived home after a 4 mile run(mostly on a motorway) and when I turned off the engine I noticed that there was a fan running noise coming out of the engine. This noise stayed for over 1-2 minutes until I turned the engine on and then off again. The car was cold before I started my 4 mile journey. The car is a vrs cr and is 10 days old!! I never had this happen to my previous 1.9pd,

Any ideas?

Sounds like the car was part way through a DPF regen. A bit strange for such a young car but if you have done a number of short journeys that might have triggered the regen. I would keep an eye on it and see if it continues happening.

many too many posts have been posted on this subject, try a forum search for "engine fans" I think you will be surprised at how many people have had just the same thing happening to their cars.
