iPod Connectivity (again)

Featured Replies

Having traded Fabia Blueline and sold Mk1 Ambiente I now have Fabia Mk1 Bohemia estate with the "Dance" Head Unit. I want to be able to connect my iPod and from the earlier thread on this it looks like Connects2 is the way to go. My concern is whether their products will work with the Dance HU. The adaptors for bothe the Mk1 and Mk2 Fab suggest compatibility with the Symphony HU. I'm itching to part with my cash but don't want to be sold a pup. Anyone fitted something similar with success to the Dance unit? Thanks.

It seems that there is a LOT of threads recently regarding head units and attaching ipods/mp3 players in place of a CD changer...

I'm about to start a project myself but been struggling to justify the costs. Basically going to make up an aux in for the MS402 head unit using a PIC - along the lines of the project described in VWCDPIC - I'm a dab hand with electronics and i'd prefer a better unit made by myself than a connects2 unit that can't do half the stuff that the VWCDPIC does. Ability to control the ipod via the head unit? Check.

I'd have to cost things up, but if enough people were interested... I'd be happy to knock a few together - takes the cost down for everyone really.

Let me know. If there's enough interest from people on here, i'll price a few up for parts (plus say an extra fiver for postage and to put towards a PIC programmer) and let people know.
