This may sound a little stupid but I was thinking about getting my whole fabia '09 resprayed. It is the copper orange colour (not sure exactly what its called)on both the roof and body. I was hoping to get the roof resprayed black and maybe the body blue or red maybe.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to external mods and paint jobs on cars so was hoping to get some idea of cost and if it's possible to get the official skoda colours for the respray.

Appreciate any advice or help.

colour changes can work out very expensive.

have you considered a vinyl wrap.

i think you can get a whole car done for about £1500

Id seriously sell it and buy another in a colour you like.

again, look at a vinyl wrap

What's vinyl wrapping? Is it literally what it sounds like? A large vinyl to cover just the roof area of the car?

And does it look practically the same?

they bond the vinyl to the bodywork and it looks just like paint.

you can have a gloss finish or matt if you want.

you can even have carbonfibre effect.

it seems to be the "modern" way to have a colour change.

when you have had enough you just peel it off.

Sounds brilliant. Just get it done by any body shop and they provide the vinyl or is it better to get it myself from somewhere cheaper?

all i did was google vehicle vinyl wraps in my area.

checked a couple out and examined their work then chose the best one.

let them supply the vinyl though, they know more about it than we do
