A new Briskodian here, so Hello to all. any help with my warning light problem would be appreciated my fabia 3 cyl 1.2 petrol car has started showing the warning light that the handbook (page28)describes as control system for exhaust. the engine runs fine and i have found that i can turn this light off by restarting engine 6 times, the AA had to be called out when the car coughed spluttered and went into limp home mode (whilst light was on ) and said fault code was po342 cam shaft sensor and that the light was engine management, then took car to garage for new camshaft sensor they did not fit part and told me that it probably was not sensor but water ingress in wiring loom how much time did i want them to spend on looking, after a few hours no joy car has since been serviced and mot'd but light periodically still comes on car has only done 19000 miles and is 2005 hope someone can help cheers otherwise it is an excellent vehicle

First thing would be to replace the sensor. I don't know why they decided it would be water ingress into wiring.

I'm having my camshaft sensor replaced tomorrow from the same code. My garage said always best to try that first. I'll let you know how it goes
