Octy 2006: gap for imperial, windnoise?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am the proud owner of a second-hand 2006 Octy DSG. Great car. I just have one great annoyance: wind noise. I am now in the process of determining wether it is the door or the window seal.

As I was inspecting my car on possible wind gaps, i noticed that there is a 'gap' in the door for the installation of an imperial/roof rack. It seems to me that the door might therefore not seal optimally.

For other octy-owners: is the new octy supplied with a detachable insert for this gap? Or is it normal that the door seal connection is abrupted?

Thankx,

Tom

Not sure about that gap but I also get the windnoise, I'm starting to think its coming from the mirror area.

Maybe the use of some gaffer tape may help find out where this wind noise is coming from.
