Never heard of autosol? Lol iv tryed metal polish , brake cleaner even tryed scrubing it with a toothbrush haha

With the above. I clean mine each time I detail the car with autosol but apply with a mf pad then wipe off with a mf cloth. If you keep on top of it that should be enough.

If you wire wool it, over time it will start to dull and scratch

if a little cruddy.

First use Duraglit metal polish wadding. Comes up a treat.

Then use Autosol or Meguiars metal polish, even T-Cut have a version of this now.

If really pitted use some G3 rubbing compound first.

I would not recomend wire wool as it will scratch the finish unless you use very fine grade.

of course you use fine grade and it doesn't scratch, he wants the pitted finish to go, once it has gone once a month with autosol and a microfiber or kitchen roll, and wear plastic gloves , used it for 32 years without a problem( motorbike exhausts) before Baker 21 recommended it
