Being ripped off?

Featured Replies

Needing the bushes at the front of the car replaced, fabia vRS. I've went myself and purchased the cupra bushes £9ea +vat. Now I'm getting several prices from a couple of garages £130-£180 for fitting? They tell me it can take 4-8 hours labour?

I think it's a little steep, what can/should I be expecting at the most?

What are their labour rates?

Even my local indi charges £35 an hour.

Not sure, they just quoted the random figures. I'm waiting on a friend of a friend who is a mechanic and is outta work so hopefully he'll be glad of a few quid but not be looking the figures I got quoted!

A bit of cash in hand never hurt anyone lol

haha.....well that's what I was thinking hence the reason for asking. Is it a big job or juts slow and annoying?

I know it's not much use to you over the water but pricing from Unit18's price list as follows:

Console bush replacement using the seat Ibiza solid bush and including alignment afterwards

£135+vat

It is a long old job.

Ali did mine and while we did have a coupl eof sheared bolts I was there most of the day.

It can be a right pain of a job, I hate doing them but those prices sound about right to me

I had mine done on my old Octavia and it was a 2-3 hour job so about £100-150 in London. You'll need an alignment done after as well.
