Featured Replies

Hello can anyone tell me in what factory the yeti is made, any links or vids would be good, plus once your yeti is loaded on the train and traveling to Emden in germany how long does it take the train to reach the port?

No idea about the factory stuff, but I believe the boat trip is only a few hours, weather pending.

I hope that helps.

Hi. This does not really answer your question..............BUT (just in case you find it helps the waiting game) "Tigger's" story

Tigger is a Brilliant Silver Metalic 1.2 SE DSG Yeti who can park all by himself!!!.................

  1. Tigger ordered - 21st of May 2010 (Week 20)
  2. Despite dealer regularly checking for progress - No confirmed build date. Only - "projected week 33 " was ever shown.
  3. 12:30hrs. Friday 20th of August 2010 - (Week 33) - Yet another call from dealer advising "Sorry! still no confirmed build date, still showing projected week 33 "
  4. 15:30hrs. Friday 20th of August 2010 - (Yes the same day!) Called into the dealership on related matter - whilst I was there they checked again and it showed "BUILT" - Was told - " will not be long now, up to 3 weeks (ish), maybe less "
  5. 08:30 hrs. Monday 23rd of August 2010 - Call from dealer - "Guess what I am looking at and have the keys in my hand for?" Tigger had arrived! emoticon-0100-smile.gif

They estimated that he was built around 14:00 hrs. in Kvasiny, and so it only took 66 hours from completion to delivery at the dealers............Wow! That's impressive by almost any standard, in my opinionemoticon-0148-yes.gif

The moral of the tale................Patience Buddy! NOT LONG NOW!!!!!! emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Have fun emotion-34.gif when it (He / She?) arrives...............Tony

i cant help it, lol. I wish the order number could give you access to the assembley line so you could watch your car being built. I know the cars have to go through customs for each country and ive waited 27 weeks upto now, but now i know its built and on its way im like a kid in sweet shop, i want to know everything.

I've been tracking two ships that make daily trips from emden to grimsby and back again they are weser highway and shelde highway, they can carry upto 750 items, so thats quite a number each morning being unloaded at grimsby.

thanks for Tiggers travel details i wait with baited breath, lol

The Yeti and Superb Combi's are both made at the Kvasiny plant. In addition, I believe there is assembly of the Yeti in Russia and India for those markets.

May find this link of use; particularly a couple of photos towards the end.

And here is it on Google Maps. Note on the middle right of the factory is the little test track that every Yeti (should) go around after being built as its first test before going on the train. (This was the case with my A2 in Neckersulm anyway - every car built went round the track first).

according to AA route planner from kvasiny to Emden by road takes 8 hours 40 mins, so taking into account the loading of cars, border checks, surely it shouldnt take more than 12 hours via train for the same distance, fingers crossed the status will change today
