changing car "settings"

Featured Replies

I’ve order a new vRS estate DSG but *not* the multi-function steering wheel + bluetooth option.

In my current car, a 09 Mercedes, i can change car settings like how long lights stay on when the key is taken out, three flash indicators vs’ 1, temp displays units, digital speedo units etc. using buttons on the steering wheel.

Question is can I do the same kind of thing in the Octavia?, and if so how to I access this if I’ve not gone for the multi-function steering wheel option.

If you have DSG then you will have maxidot as standard. You will have access to various functions within the Maxidot screen and all changes are carried out using buttons on one of the stalks. You may not have as much control as you have in your previous car but there are quite a few things you adjust within it.

I Hope it's ok to ask a quick question without trying to hijack the thred.

Is it possible to disable the software via vag-com that stops you changing the car settings whilst the car is in motion. I know this is a safety feature but normally when i remeber i want to change a setting I'm halfway through a journey so It's not possible and have forgotten by time i get where i'm going :S
