living with camber?

Featured Replies

hi,

basically ive been trying to decide if i should lower my non-vrs fabia or not, it would have to be on budget coilovers.

ive got one main problem...

it seems like the front camber problem cant be fixed, is it really that big of a deal?

there must be hundreds of people with lowered fabias...how fast is it going to wear out my tyres?

thats really the only thing im not liking. i understand ill have to get shorter drop links too.

anything else i should consider?

What is the camber issue you have? you dont always need shorter links but even if you do its a minor issue, fixed by using early mondeo link arms available at around £10-15 each i think ive still got a set somewhere ;)

Im low enough to rub on weitec's and I have no inside wear issues at all and have standard drop links

i've been reading that the camber cant be adjusted on the front, thought it would be a problem.

Its not unusual to have a front setup that doesn't feature adjustable camber. You'll be looking at a more focused handling car for that sort of suspension setup (last one i messed around with was a S2000).

I have issues with uneven where but need a 4 wheel alignment.

Simple answer is get camber adjusting wishbones. a mate picked some up the other day for £40 off ebay

Depends how low you want to go?

if you are going to be running 16's on a very low car you will eat the insides of your tyre in approx 4-5 months or less but if you are running 17's the camber is alot less so tyres will last alot longer.

was planning running 15s on 195/50. (dont really like small sidewalls). wouldn't have though tyre size would have mattered. angle of camber surely doesnt change if the rolling radius is the same.
