Bad start

Recommended Posts

Bought a new Roomster 1.6SE diesel in January this year.

Has 1800 miles on the clock and have had several problems.

Firstly, on Thursday the front wipers wouldn't work properly although they are currently working correctly.

On Friday the fan decided to stop working, although once more it is currently working ok!

Today the glow plug warning lamp started flashing whilst driving though on stopping the car then re starting it has so far not come back on.

Will be contacting the dealer on Monday though it's not a good start regarding reliability!!

  • 4 weeks later...

Update.

Car left with local Pulmans on 5th April after they diagnosed a defective exhaust pressure sensor. Other than reliability issue's, not a problem.

Problem is, new sensor cannot be sourced until early May??!!!!!!!!!!!! Which means the brand new car will be in the garage a month!!

This seemed unbelievable to say the least. Phoned Skoda customer services who confirmed same.

One very unhappy Skoda owner.

Presumably they'll be providing you with a courtesy car until then.... if not then complain!

Have you written the dealer a letter giving them a date after which you will be rejecting the vehicle? As soon as you start to have problems you should write a letter listing all the issues, the attempts to fix them and how much longer you will give the garage to fix everything.

Even if you never have to use the letter it is there so you can just reject the vehicle and get a full refund if it continues to have faults.

If the cars were being delivered in 8 to 12 weeks then you might accept a few niggles but most people are waiting 4 to 6 months for a car. To then have it arrive with lots of faults just adds insult to injury.
