MFD navigation unit, replacement LED's?

Featured Replies

Hi all, just after abit of info. I bought a seat MFD off ebay and just wondered if anyone knew

where to get replacement LED's for the unit, as a few dont work anymore. I know they're surface soldered but unsure which type.

Also has anyone ever changed the startup screen before?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

I'm not sure about the MFD1 but in the MFD2 they are PLCC-2 SMD Topled. The intensity is unknown, but I would go with about 100-200 mcd

Thanks for the reply, i've had a quick look online and those LEDs look very similar...thanks

I've been looking around at how to change the start up logo, I need to try and get hold of a copy of the firmware

and then change the screen through navi edit. I've looked all over the web but all the links seem to be dead.

Would anyone have a copy of the firmware by chance?

Thanks

Watch the leds. I changed mine in a VW MFD1 for my octavia, they are very bright green and annoyingly glow when should be off. Still trying to find low output green. Also there are about 30 leds that need to be changed and its a damn fiddly job.

These were what I used ,very slightly small but near enough in size.

Look hard enough and you should find nav edit and files BUT I am very wary of turning my MFD into a brick.
