Rear wheel nightmare

Featured Replies

Had new disks and pads fitted last August, noticed the drivers side rear wheel was heating up quite a bit. In January had new disks fitted as they were practically worn down to the metal. Rear wheel still heating up. Garage fitted new caliper and hose. Heating up problem still there. Disconnected handbrake to see if this was causing it, didn't make any difference. Had new bearing fitted today on the rear wheel, drove home, still binding and whole wheel red hot. Any ideas??? Its an 06 4x4 estate.

My dad's octavia has been suffering from a similar fault. Although dealer not really wanting to admit it is a fault with the car. They say it's due to heavy breaking. My dad can see this happening after a journey of just 3 miles where the only time the car has to be fully stopped is on his driveway, and he doesn't race around the place.

I'm wondering if the brakes heating up the wheel actually caused the bearing to fail.

Wouldnt be the brake bias would it?

What controls the brake bias?
