It could be worse. These things happen I've still got to repair the scratchs on both my front wings thanks to lorries losing dropping stuff

I though most insurance companies will allow the windscreen changed for free? hmm better actually check mine then:)

Usually repairs are free, and there's an excess to pay if you require a new screen...

Rob.

If you have a fully comprehensive policy, they usually include Glass replacement, but you have to pay the excess, which is normally

Mine would have been free for the repair but when he tried to do it it sent a crack half way across the screen so now it is going be my

surely if it cracked while he was "fixing" it then they should pay. thats how i would feel anyhow

They do a test thing first to see how strong it is. If it doesn't crack on the test then it's safe to repair, else it's new screen time.

Personally I'd rather pay 300-odd quid versus wearing the windscreen when it collapses at speed. You'd **** yourself if the windscreen gave in at motorway speeds.

Leason I've learned is to get small pits and cracks repaired asap. It is gonna save a fortune in the long run. A lot of insurers have these types of repairs as a freebie anyway?

over the last 6 years i think i have had 3 windscreens and about 5 or 6 side windows ith at least 3 different insurers and none have affected my ncb. hitting the lamp post on the other hand did affect my ncb :o

Claiming on the insurance for the windscreen doesn't effect my ncb and obviously has to be done.

Going to get the scuffs done now too as my car is still so new it seems a shame to not have it at it's best, plus I might as well do it while i can afford it.
