thought it wasnt gonna let me start new topic so added it into other thread, i mean could i put differnet non vrs 17s on without killing power

Not really, it'll still suffer being a 1.2... it has 14's or 15's standard?

14 :(

depends if there heavy 17"s then acceleration will be effected, back in the day i put 18's on a 1.4 Octavia, that used to struggle after lol

and it will look abit silly unless lowered, try going for some nice light 15's or 16's

on 205 - 40- 17 tyres it will be slightly larger rolling circumference than the standard tyres on 14 (185-60-14) or 15 inch (195-50-15) wheels. You could put 16's on with 195 wide tyre.

The mark 2 Fabia 1.2 on the other hand has 195-55-15 or 205-45-16 tyres as standard so you can put 17's (with 205-40-17 tyres) on without affecting rolling circumference. If the mark 1 has the same gear ratios it shouldn't struggle too much in the 1.2 I guess.
