Can you download off a CD

Featured Replies

If you copy music to a CD in MP3 format can you download off it into the RNS 510??? instead of using an SD card

If so how many tunes does a CD hold

Never done it myself, but you can down load from a CD. I believe it's much slower than from a SD card.

No idea as to how many mp3 tracks you can get on a CD.

Yes, I have done it in the past, providing the CD has been burned as a data CD( your MP3 format I should think) rather than as an audio CD. IIRC you should be able to get a minimum of 3-4 albums on a CD instead of 1 in audio format.

I very rarely download from SD card and always use CD's, so yes it can be done. You cannot copy normal audio CD's on because the columbus has no encoder, so as long the files are MP3 or unprotected WMA then they'll copy just fine.

The average song is 8-10mb.

The average album is 10-12 tracks.

A CD holds 700-800mb data.

So unless you have a passion for Yes live albums or Pete Townshend rock operas, your CD should hold about seven albums in MP3 format

I use Cds in mine and I get around 11-12 albums on a CD.
