The most important new octavia question ever!

Featured Replies

Or maybe not ;)

Have they fixed the issue where you open the boot during or after rain and all the water runs into the boot - mainly onto the speakers and the CD changer?

If they havent then I wont be having a new one :D

Can anyone answer this most important issue?

If you have a look around some of the new octavia threads you may notice, as I have, two things:

1. It seems they've actually managed to make it worse

2. It doesn't matter, because it takes so long to get the car once you've ordered it that you no longer care by the time the car arrives. :D

It only drips water if the car is on an angle sideways, otherwise it drips into the channels outside the seals.

CD changer is behind a cover on the left, and speakers are in the rear doors so OK on that front.

Buy the estate version!!! :P :D:rofl:

I wont be getting one at all unless they do an RS, and even that depends on the price. The reason I got my current RS is that it was under 15k new. If the ewplacement is getting on for 20k then I dont think I will bother - there will be better 2nd hand options to a new rs at that price.

I got my new OctyII this month. Manufactured on 27/10/2004.

I tested your point. Not a SINGLE drop of water ended up in the boot.
