Im fairly new to the site so apologies if iv posted in the wrong area or if anyone has already posted this question.

Im looking to remap my 55plate fabia vrs and i was just wondering what kind of places could be recommended, i started a thread the otherday and someone mentioned a place in mansfield, cant think of the name off of the top of my head though. But i was wondering what kind of places in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham and possibley Barnsley and Doncaster anybody could recommend or anywhere anyone has been,

I know of JBS but i work with a guy that had a little bit of an issue with them but everyone else say they are great, but theres always that doubt in the back of my mind there because of what happened to the person i know :S .

So anyone with any suggestions?Anything would be appreicated

The Mansfield one would be Shark Performance. Ben is a nice guy and their maps are highly rated.

Sheffield and surrounding area is a bit barren for tuners tbh, but there is always RS Tuning at Leeds, which are also highly rated.

just had a quick scout on the web, only could find rs tuning and derbyshire remapping, never heard of derbyshire remapping so best to ask on the forums. best ones id reccomend is shark performance or RS tuning

Ok cheers, think ill take a look at this shark place that you mentioned daz. Iv got a friend who works for this TVR garage that work with RS tuning in sheffield, ill have a snoop round with prices and stuff and see who can offer the most, i know im going to be looking in the region of around 300 roughly to round it up no matter where i go really.

My dad mentioned somebody called Jon Noble motorsports in sheffield have any of you guys heard of them, i asked a couple of people at work and their opinions were a little mixed so im unsure, most feedback was good, but its between jon noble and the Shark performance place in Mansfield i think due to distance etc.

You could try Jbs auto designs in Chesterfield. Ive always use them without any problems.

Dont rule out RS Tuning in Leeds

They get a lot of good reviews, and you have the option of Custom mapping and before and after dyno runs

I'd be interested to know what the issue with JBS was?

Basically,

A guy at a workshop my dad works with, had a mk2 golf with a 1.8 T out of a TT, tuned to foook as you can more than likely imagine lol... JBS did all his engine work because he didnt want to do it himself kinda thing i guess.

Anyway long story short, he needed to upgrade the pistons etc because he was looking to get more out of it, they had put some conrods in it (I THINK it was conrods dont hold me to that) that were uprated from the standard ones that were originally in, few months later he was just driving it downt he road, not stupidly or anything as he didnt drive it that often, next thing he knows... boom, 5holes through the engine.. they basically said oh yeah we'll have a look for you, said that he owed them 3 grand and it wasnt there fault :/ he refused, and they impounded his car, then he threatened court, and then a fee ended up getting agreed, i know im only talking about a remap, but if anything was to go wrong, i wouldnt want to be basically told to get my money out or do one.

Thats the main reason tbh. And another story was a mix up in chargin, someone was underchargerd by 90quid.. the guy didnt realise, 2weeks later jbs rang up asking for their 90quid they undercharged him and said they would take him to court..even though he had a receipt etc..

but apart from that ive not really heard anything bad about them tbh with you, but with that being from people i know, its sort of abit of mmm and arrrr kind of situation :/

Fair enuff. Well I know Shark Performance have a good rep, so give them a try.

JBS have some horrific threads about them over the VAG forums along with their custom code maps. Not sure who is at first, but i wouldnt touch either.

Shark performance is a good bet, but ive heard good things of RS tuning as well

Ben at Shark will be able to sort you out.

30 minutes from Sheffield.

Know of two cars with Shark re-maps. Superb results.

Well worth the trip, or wait until one of his open days or group buys to get a bargain.

That's a great JBS story SamtVRS . I think the best one will always be that infamous Audi TT with the nitrous.

If its any help i'm in Sheffield.

Ive had remaps from JBS/Custom Code. Bluefin. Noble Motorsports and Shark Performance.

In summary:

I will NEVER use JBS again.

I might use bluefin again.

I might use Noble again.

I have used Shark 3 times and will continue to use them without going any where else

Do your research and look for reviews on the net. That should help make your mind up
