Ok, I think I need some work doing on the vrs. The following is what I have planned:

Console bushes

Dogbone bush

Symptoms are:

- an engine vibration (makes no difference if clutch up or down) between 1000 and 1300 rpm. Makes pulling away an annoying,  vibrating affair. 

- a skittishnesh under braking especially on bumpy roads. Also, very vague steering that seems more remote than I remember. General loose feeling. 

About 2 months back something seemed to 'collapse' under average braking. Difficult to explain but the car seemed to lurch forward a bit as if something in the suspension crushed.  Have a similar feeling over speed bumps, as if the front end is going to collapse into itself when dropping off them. 

I'm concerned about the mot, but more so about safety. 

Am I in the right ball park here?

Would take it to unit 18 as they seem to know what they're about.

yea, i think your right. The collapsing feeling your on about is probably the wishbones rocking in the bush when the direction of the force is changed going over the speed bumps.
