MFSW Buttons

Featured Replies

So, I have my new vRS and am still as much in love with it as when I got it last Tuesday, my wallet however is not loving me but oh well :D

As I mentioned in a previous post, I got the bluetooth hands-free included with the car even though I didn't spec it. I also have the 3-spoke MFSW. I only have the buttons on the left hand side of the steering wheel though. I was a bit annoyed at this as I thought I would get the buttons on the left and right. However, I thought as I hadn't ordered the bluetooth system and it had been put in anyway I couldn't really moan.

Anyway, I didn't really think the buttons would be a problem but it's getting borderline annoying now when trying to press the OK button on the bottom of the wiper stalk and instead having the wipers go to crazy insane downpour mode when all I wanted to do was work the MDI or use the phone system.

The two vRS's I test drove both had the buttons on the right and my friend who has just got an Octavia vRS has them too (he did spec the phone kit though). So, I know it's possible to have them but is it possible to add buttons to the wheel?? Does the blank section on the right hand side of my wheel pop out and you can put in the buttons or do you need a whole new wheel?? Im hoping you can put the buttons in but Im not hopeful for some reason.

Does anyone know the answer??

Thanks

-Will :)

I have the MSFW and bluetooth phone kit but only buttons on the left of the wheel and you have to use the buttons on the wiper stalk to use the mdi or phone stuff.

That's odd I have the standard mfsw but can control mdi thru it.

What does the Bluetooth mfsw look like no one seems to know the difference

indeed, I don't have bluetooth, but have the MDI interface, and control all my media through the controls on the steering wheel... I have yet to see a wheel different to mine in all the vRS's Ive seen (about 4 different ones) anyone any pics, or are they all the same wheel but with different functionality?

However, the vRS's I test drove had these buttons on the right of the wheel...

(photo borrowed from the Yeti forum).

These buttons are the ones im missing and im wondering whether they are a separate part that fits to the wheel or integrated with it??

I expect you could get your dealer to retrofit the telephone MFSW but it probably wont be that cheap.

same wheel as mine.... I think there's only one wheel in the vRS.

i order bluetooth prep and also ordered the steering wheel with the buttons for controlling the phone and it cost me £150, so i presume it will be the same as the yeti
