Anyone used Dealerbid to sell a car?

Featured Replies

Just wondered if anyone had used Dealerbid to sell a car?

I'd never heard of them until today...so a wee bit sceptical.

If you want a trade bid on your car just phone up a dealer, unless you've got an especially high mileage model then you'll have to find more specialist professional buyers.

Thanks for that reply - Allams Skoda. I probably will speak to the local dealer & a couple of indy's as plan B & C.

Plan A is to sell privately, it's early days yet, but so far I've had little interest in what I reckon is a very desirable Vrs - low miles (24k),>£2k extra's balance of warranty (bought from you !) 2 yr service plan, cambelt & water pump done. Deal is done on a new motor (privately) so it sadly has to go.

They are fairly easy cars to sell. Has yours got the 18" alloys, jumbo box, electric rear windows pack? That seems to make a difference.

The mileage is very good and the history sounds good, plus the warranty will give peace of mind to any private buyer!

It does, it also has xenons, cruise & reverse park assist.

It's been cherished for the time I've had it. I was going to buy a Scout/Yeti, but TBH the waiting lists scared me off. So an opportunistic deal has been done on a tidy 4 year old XC90, which I need to pay for very soon!

Spoke with my local selling dealer this week & he said he would take it back, but agreement is I try to sell it privately for a week or so first. I am priced about £900 above 'trade' price, but have only had a couple of timewasters so far. I am sure if someone sees it in the metal they'll buy it.

This whole selling experience has shaken my interest in cars. I've always looked after my motors, but I am starting to wonder why. Maybe I've just been unlucky (again !)
