Winter in NY

Featured Replies

Been meaning to do this for ages, went to New York back in January, it was during one of their very cold spells - day time high was 25 degrees, that's Farenheit, btw. These photos aren't going to win any prizes but its the snapping away that counts. Just so much to see when you're there, would recommend it to anyone.

Always promised I'd take my wife here,

Anyone ever been to Central Park when there's a foot+ of snow? Beautiful.

My wife loves the film the Thomas Crowne Affair and Breakfast at Tiffanys so of course we went to the NY Library but it was so much better than just what you see in those films. Saw Adjustment Bureau since and that does the library far more justice, amazing place.

I know its cliched but so many photos are just of the classic iconic landmarks. Could probably do with cropping and tilting a couple of degrees but here it is:

Crap photo but this is the pool room at the Four Seasons restaurant, *******-achingly expensive but fascinating place in its own right and the food was first class.

Last day in NY, worst weather, really closed in but at least the temp rose above freezing for the first time. Did clear enough at times to get a fw shots of the statue

By the time we went they'd had several big dumps of snow and were getting a bit fed up of it. We had 4 perfectly clear days so cold was the issue.

Great time to go though, all the attractions were quiet. No queues anywhere, went straight up the empire state building without any hold up.

Great Photo's

I was there at the end of February for my 4th time, love the place.

We got there on the Saturday and i wanted to come home - it was so busy you couldn't move (think Oxford Street the week before xmas). But then for the next 6 days it was dead, didn't have to queue for anything at all. Must have been the natives on weekend breaks or day trips on the saturday!
