do you think or have you heard whether we can expect that engine in Octavia II and when ?

That would probably be what was rumoured for a diesel VRS

I have heard the 170ps figure before, so sounds about right...

If the 140bhp is TDI, then it does make you wonder whether they've left room for the 170 to be TDI. That would be a scary piece of kit...... :eek:

or a smokey piece of kit.....

hope they bolt on better tyres than my puny nct5's, or the thing would never get any traction

A 170 bhp VAG diesel sounds fantastic... They need something to go up against the 163 BMW, 152 Ford, 163 Volvo, 150 Vauxhall etc... This seems to fit the bill nicely. I wonder when the French will deploy a 150+ bhp diesel.

I seem to remember Peugeot had a concept coupe a year or two ago with a 2.2 ltr diesel, putting out approx. 180 bhp.... light weight, and bloody gorgeous too..... think I saw it in an article on the Auto Express site.

Saw the same article..IIRC it was tangerine Orange but was some seriously goodlooking piece of kit.

Unfortunately, being a Pug, it will , probably lose all its trim halfway round the first corner. :auto:

should be the new octy vRS TDI ver... rumour mill has there being 2 vers this time.. petrol and diesel..

same lump is due in A3 shortly.

Make that now... AFAIK it's the S-Type's diesel engine too.
