Focus RS

Featured Replies

As the title says really - some pics of my mate's Focus RS.

Its a full Mountune conversion so is pulling 350bhp - and believe me, its quick! The power delivery is perfect, really progressive but pins you in your seat at the same time. More impressive though is the handling, it goes round corners like its on rails. Oh, and the sound is just ridiculously good. After driving it, it just doesnt make my heavy diesel feel the same anymore ;)

Comments welcome!

They are quick, but they will drink fuel. Evo had one of these go against a RS3, Impreza Type-20 and an Enzo.

It'll drink fuel in comparison to a vRS 170, but apart from the Audi, it's better than the other 2 cars you've mentioned.

The Evo article was a good watch actually.

What a babe!...

Freind of mine had one untill it became costly to run :giggle:

+1 and his was standard.

Fantastic engine. Has the noise the Vrs lacks

Fugly as though

I had an ST

Not even 'that' quick and averaged 18-20mpg combined

Needless to say i had it a short time

Turning circle is shocking!

Each to their own I guess. IMO the RS is a quality looking car.

I had an ST and it'd blow the socks off my vRS, it was 280bhp though but even as stock it's quicker than a vRS (Diesel or petrol).

I agree on the mpg and turning circle though, both are pretty poor - but I know so many people who have bought a car without doing their homework first then end up moaning about the running costs afterwards - thats not the ST or RS's fault, that's the owners fault.

Hi thought id join up and say hello, the RS belongs to me so thanks to Foz for taking the pics, becoming quite the David Bailey lol Car is a fully loaded RS with full mountune conversion and it is cnstantly impressing me!

Indeed it is quick, claimed from Mountune 5.4 to 62, although they are prone to playing on the side of caution. The kit is the full mp350 but again, unlike a standard RS which a few have produced a little under the factory 300, they do tend to produce over the 350 claimed. Again this moutune kit is brilliant in its power delivery.

nope they arent cheap, but none of my cars have been, well economical! have the missus 1.4tfsi Audi for economy when needed!

Fugly ..... hmmm your opinion however ill step on the other side and disagree. I wasnt too keen for a while but in the flesh next to one, i think it looks great and i have yet to have a bad word said about it. Should look better once a few mods are done cosmetically.

As they say 'it is what it is'.

You sure your st was runnign right?? ST's are quick cars and gave great grunt, its one of the reasons i went for the RS driving FOZ's st about, admitedly his wasnt standard but even still, great car.

Ill agree on that, turning circle like the titanic but its a small compromise for all the other plus's it has!

As for mpg, well i knew that before hand although on the drive back from getting it i returned 31mpg with a few spirited drives ;)

Well cant say i didnt do my homework ha ha i knew exactly what i was getting in to and for me its what i love, cars hobbie and what i spend my money on, driving around for a job i wanted fun.

Anyway thanks for the nice comments and if any meets locally ill pop it along for those to look it if its welcome ;)

You can buy 2 Clio Cup 200's for Focus RS money, the Clio being more entertaining. One for yourself and one for the wife/girlfriend.

You just can't use the power of the Focus on our roads anymore, bit of a waste.

Buying a car like an RS though is never about value for money.

The clio needs to be driven hard to get the best from it, too much effort IMO. As for being more entertaining, I find them a bit dull if I'm honest. Great handling but just not enough mid range grunt to satisfy what I want from a car.

Swings and roundabouts though I guess. If we all agreed, it'd be a boring place to be.

but i didnt want a clio 200, i wanted a nice audi sportback with 5 doors and economy and then something chunky and fun so got the RS.

And to be honest if you knew what i paid for it you wouldnt have said no either - absolute bargain believe me!

Have you driven one? I have driven both and the RS was / is the better car. Clio is fun, but its a toy, i wanted comfort, sat nav etc etc etc etc aswell

And we have a mate who has had lots of clios and always wanted more power - aside from the v6 he got ha ha

The typeR i got was quick and very fun, but not enough creature comforts for me now, that had to be driven hard and was great, but could become a little tiresome after a while.

oh and power being a waste, 30 is 30 wherever or whatever, 70 is 70. yes it is more powerful but so what, i just get there better than in a clio.

if someone offered you a GTR or an RS4 for example, would you say no because its too powerful and a waste of a car?? would you heck!

My st was running right just not that quick

Aspects were nice... Interior as i had the st3

Exhaust note was nice and even popped now and again... My mate had a hybrid fabia at the time and they were level so i sold the st and bought his fabia and got 50mpg

Dont get me wrong a mountune rs will be a rocket but theres no way i could justify fuel / pricetag

I'm amazed it can actually use that 350bhp, seeing as it's front wheel drive! :o

I just have to see one of these in blue and I'm nursing a semi

each to their own but in my opinion that looks absolutely stunning.

so much better than the chavvy matt black and lime green ones i have seen on the road.

although you dont see that many so it is pretty exclusive.

Looks like my old one. I miss it but not visiting the petrol station all the time. Mine was mountuned aswell. It's a beast

Great cars, looks cracking in white.

its horses for courses mate.

me to, the revo knuckle does work well and the reason i went moutune route is becasue the power is doen very progresively. the rs is limited in 1st and 2nd so this eliminates a lot of spin. Also the driver has a lot to do with it ;)

no i didnt fancy green, my last car was blue, and 37-40k for a black one ..... erm, no thanks!

You must be getting old mate, before your time

Haha don't knock it till you've tried it and all that :-P

My grandpa reckons he's too young for my old man image 7 series, but that thing is ace for looooong journeys, step out fresher than you went in :-)

When will they make a car with a throne for a drivers seat, drop the kiddies off at the pool in stop start traffic :-D
