Fabia - Cold starting problem

Featured Replies

My wife/daughter's Fabia has developed a habit of not starting on cold/damp mornings. Battery appears OK - all lights are bright - but there's nothing from the starter at all - not even the clunk of the solenoid. The engine will turn and starts first time later in the day.

Either the car's turning into a teenager or I'm guessing that something is shorting to earth via condensation, but I've no idea where to start looking.

Any ideas??

Try checking the connection at the starter motor. A VERY common problem with the Fabia is for the wire to provide an intermittent starting problem because the wire breaks off, but is held in place by part of the plastic sheath. HTH?
