Depends on what formats your dvd player is able to play.

say just like a standard dvd player lik in a ps2

Your movie clips need to be in mpeg2 format, so any avis you have need to be converted first.

You can get software that does it all or you can use different bits of software for the different stages.

I use roxio dvd creator to convert and burn the dvd in one simple process. There are various ways to do this, but the simplest is to drag the wmv clips into the dvd builder program and simply hit burn. The software handles the conversion and burn process in one step.

No it won't 'backup' copyrighted DVDs...and you should avoid DVDShrink lest it may tempt you down the wicked path.

Yes, and you certainly should make sure you avoid DVD decrypter as well (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/) because otherwise you might inadvertantly break any form of commercial DVD decryption at all. And then make sure you don't use DVD Shrink to burn your ~7Gb ISO image onto a cheap single-layer DVD +/- R.

Re-encoding DivX etc files into DVD is quite challenging and can produce mixed results - but DVD Santa used with TMPGEnc OR NeoDVD will generally do the job. You can't get any of these apps from the same place that you didn't get your DivX/avi/whatever files from in the first place

andydvd is good too so make sure you dont have that. Lets you copy & play any region dvd on yer PC. plus its a tiny little app/driver that works in the background with other apps such as nero.
