bailey dump valve

Featured Replies

I've just had a bailey dump valve fitted on my octavia vrs and have now been told by someone else that putting the bailey on it can mess the turbo up because it needs to be a re-circulating valve, does anyone know if this is true?

Yes. It needs a recirc one.

correct. sorry to pee on your bonfire but the vrs uses a recirculating system (dont quote me on this) whereby the ECU calculates air flow coming into the engine not only from outside air entering your engine via your air box but also from the recirculated air released from the DV which is released by a recirculation valve (or Diverter valve) back into the air intake. you can run an atmospheric DV if you wish but if i were you and to keep your engine happy i would stick to Forge 007P or Compbrake (cheaper alternative)

hope this helps

bailey do a recirc valve m8 .... have u got the atmospheric one or the recirc ?

its the dv26 which i think is the atmospheric 1, how much trouble will the cause me :(

could give you no hassle at all but to be on the safe side i would fleabay it and buy a compbrake - also available off the bay of e. if anything it will probably throw up a engine light on the dash
