Ignition Switch

Featured Replies

Hi All

has anyone had an issue where sometimes when you turn off the ignition, the car thinks you have removed the key

I.E you turn the car off, and everything turns off, Radio etc. and the doors unlock?

Only happens sometimes, so might just be something sticking somewhere, maybe a blast of wd40 is in order?

guess it must be just me then...

I haven't had that Dallan, the only thing I have had related is a few times I have not been able to remove the ignition key after turning off the ignition. It might be me getting too keen and not allowing the interlock to release it after I have put the transmission in Park.

Thanks for the replies, i had asked a dealer but they hadnt heard of the issue, is there a number or ref on the bulletin? and im assuming as im 2 months out of warranty it wont be covered? it had been happening before but as it was so infrequent i always forgot to mention it :(

When my car was 6 months old i had the same problem. Was the ignition switch.
