Pheasants and Fogs

Featured Replies

Hi, all.

A kindly pheasant leaped out in front of me at high speed (or was that me?) and turned itself into goo inside the engine bay - sadly, though, it got there via the fog light. Bloody good shot, it missed all bodywork and just punched a hole clean through the back of the unit. Hey-ho, fishing out poultry entrails at arm's length on my way to a business meeting was just what I needed first thing!

I clearly need a new lens and I've the expectation that the housing itself and perhaps even the bulb holders (both fog and DRL) will have taken a pasting in the process. the bulbs are obviously the easy bit. Before I dismantle it over the weekend to see what's left (and hunt for previously-overlooked gobbets of bird while I'm in there), does anyone have any part numbers or clues as to what comes with the replacement housing, please?

I can then at least see if there are any online suppliers before I endure that traditional blank stare I get from a dealer whenever I ask them for a particular part. And specific part numbers may even make it possible for them to quote as well, you never know!

2009 FL estate, near side (passenger) fog housing, lens, bulb holders.

Thanks ever-so. Maybe it's time to upgrade the DRL bulbs while I'm at it... where's that thread on CAN-friendly LEDs...?

We call peasants chavs where I'm from. Always annoying when you hit one and it damages your car.

Not sure on the FL but i phone skoda yesterday about my pre FL and got quoted £80 each which i thought was crazy expensive so currently hunting for a set.

Have you seen these on ebay Item number: 180603941977

The pheasant i hit took out the plastic trim next to the light and split the bumper:(
