octavia clutch/DMF change prices and options

Featured Replies

hey everyone,

just had major work done to my octy, the first clutch and DMF change also the hydralic release bearing, had to phone a lot of places and lots of quotes on prices and types, just thot i'll put my experience down for anyhone who might need the info.

- my 2006 TDI PD octy was using a SACHS clutch/DMF unit by default, skoda will recommend to always check before ordering one.

- according to skoda two brands are prominent in the market either SACHS or LUK but and i quote skoda " SACHS IS MORE EXPENSIVE AND BETTER".

- after calling a lot of parts providers the prices usually for the whole kit (SACHS) stayed very close or beyond £600.

- EURO PARTS gave me the best deal, SACHS clutch and DMF plus and LUK release bearing all for £476 including VAT, upto £150 cheaper then any other place.

the clutch/DMF is now working perfectly, i hope this info helps anyhow who is about to be faced with clutch/DMF change in an octy.

thanks
