Questions from a new vRS owner.....

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have had my vRS 4 days and I am astonished at how capable a car it is. Previous to the vRS I've owned a Volvo T5 (now for sale if anyone is interested) and a BMW M5, so am pretty familiar how performance cars are supposed to operate.

The Skoda feels much more sure-footed than both of them.

Anyway, onto a few queries:

1 - Is it possible to retrofit parking sensors? If so, any idea how much?

2 - How do I remove the dealer sticker in the back window?

3 - I don't seem to have a cigarette lighter socket so can't plug my GPS thing in. How come?

4 - I need a new set of number plates - Can anyone recommend a decent supplier over the net?

5 - I hate the bing bong noise when I get in and don't have my seat belt on - Is it possible to get rid?

Thanks

Cra

1)You can have the parking sensors retro fitted,my dealer did mine

2)Carefully peel it off would be the my suggestion unless its really stuck, otherwise no idea

3)Cigarette lighter socket should be behind the handbrake lever

4)no idea

5)Yes it is,no idea how hopefully someone else will have the answer

hope my limited knowledge helps a little!!!

1 - Guess so. Pretty much anything can be retrofitted. It's just a case of how much, and how hard. Can't help with either when it comes to parking sensors. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

2 - Surely you can't be serious? Peel it off! (and carefully use thinners to remove sticky residue, then polish. Don't use a sharp blade in case you scratch a heated rear window element.

3 - As above :iagree:

4 - fancyplates.com seem popular and I know several people who've used them with no problems

5 - VAG-COM I think can do it. If someone can confirm what coding is required I'll bring it along on the North East meet if you're still coming.
