Intercooler leaking oil

Featured Replies

Hey All

I resently got a puddle of oil from the driver side wheel arch, and i noticed that there is now a Hissing sound when i rev over 2000 arpund the intercoooler region. it sounds like theres a air leak somewhere, the car doesnt seem to pull as it did as well so im guessing a loss of power. additionally theres when i rev over 2000 it produces alot of smoke and my MPG is droped drastically

i checked all the pipes connected to the intercooler and they are all still connected .

when i removed the intercooler there were dents where the intercooler touchs the from bumper, and there was oil in this area, with no oil leaking from the pipes, could the bumper over time (the cars a 04 plate) from constant rubbing and bumping cause a crack in the intercooler.

could there be other reasons im not considering for this hisssing sound?

Additionally can anyone tell me the part number for the MK1 VRS intercooler and if anyone knows where i can get a nice replacement.

Mine leaves a few drops every day too, i think its normal
