Noob (to Briskoda) from Aberdeenshire

Hi,

I replaced my 12 year old automatic Nissan Primera Saloon. Nothing at all wrong with that car, just with 2 wee boys and labradog we have outgrown the saloon and needed something with a bit more space.

So after the prim's last MOT at Christmas time we decided it was time to start looking, my only major criteria were estate and autobox (as I have a false leg), and having had a golf as a hire car a few years ago, I really fancied tracking down something with DSG.

The first car we looked at was an Octy Hatch in Arnold Clark in Glasgow, but Swiss Tony wouldn't budge on his 7k sticker price even though the car had a smashed wing mirror, a gouge out of one of the alloys and a massive paint chip down to metal on the rear sill it was also overdue it's cambelt.

The second one we looked at was an Ambiente estate and is now on my drive with 57k on it's clocks, silver, 1.9TDi DSG. I really love the DSG 'box and I can finally (after a decade of driving) get the manual driving experience but fortunately the DSG is clever and takes over the work when I forget. :-D This one also needed it's cambelt done, however this dealer was much more accommodating and we managed to negotiate £300 off his sticker price with that work in mind.

Very pleased with it especially it's 55 mpg compared to my prims 28!!

Hi and welcome aboard.
