Wot tyres

Featured Replies

Hi all

Following on from the thread about wheel widths.

My vRS came with Continental ContiSportContact2 (205.45.R16.83.W)

I've just replaced the fronts (at 15k?)

My friendly tyre man came up with ContiSportContact. Without the 2 and a different tread pattern. We're still talking about the price!

On my previous 2 Litre Elegance I was running Bridgestone Potenzas.

Any thoughts from you experienced guys?

Larry

PS: Probably another thread about 1.9 diesel vs 2.0 petrol!

id go for pilot exalto pe02 amazing tyres

got mine for 99 each but most places were 140 +

round ones are best I've been told..................sorry it's been one of those morning.

Toyo's are meant to be good, I still have the same front tyres at the mo (17.5k) but will be replacing them soon I think it will be a toss up between Toyo and Bridgestone.

toyo's dont do water too well the t1s's maybe the t1r's are better tho

I like the eagle F1's on FWD cars, seem vrey grippy indeed (GSD3's) btw.

try ebay for you cheap tyres ;)

gsd3's are ok but only lasted 6 k on my 172

I got Toyo T1 R's.....

very good in dry and wet conditions but they dont seem to like cold damp conditions( nor do I  ) so I would say they are great normally but can feel a bit nervous in winter mornings

If they dont wear TOO quickly...I get them again.

The previos bridgestones were ok

Continentals - had them on a previous car and .....never again....at any price :(

BTW greenlight...what area are you in? my local tyre co in Sussex was good or know another one near Andover in Hants who are usually cheap

marc

I'm running eagle f1's at the moment and they are great, there is barely any less grip in the rain than in the dry!

There is also less road noise, with the V tread pattern there are longer strips of rubber contacting the road. Tyres with many small blocks of rubber striking the road make more noise.

Oh and they look nice :)

I never realised you could put tyres wider than 205 on furby though, might be interesting.

ContiSport II's.....had virtually every tyre you can get (including budget jobs) and for me Conti II's are the best all rounder. Just my opinion.
