Fabia vRS front speakers

Featured Replies

The previous owner has fitted aftermarket speakers to the recently purchased vRS. The passenger side woofer is distorted at any volume and the drivers side tweeter does not seem to be working. So I would like to know how easy or hard it would be to change the speakers to OE ones.

Skoda quoted around £18 for woofer and £11 for tweeter - thats each. I would think that the previous owner also changed the tweeters from OE to aftermarked aswell so I'd probably need 4 speakers, total cost around £60.

Now Skoda say they will fit them for £120 but I think thats more than hefty! After searching I have found that the OE speakers are rivetted in and they have to be drilled to be removed. But in my case aftermarket speakers are fitted so surely these wont be rivetted in. Therefore how will I fit the OE speakers again?

Does anyone have pictures of these rivets or the front door with the door card off.

Thanks

hi i recently bought mine without any back speakers so i moved the oems to the front and put some new ones better quality in the front.

... even though i had to run new cables from back doors to the head unit which you have already in your case.

..drillling the riverts were piece of case and i if you buy a riverting thing which doesnt cost too much you can put new riverts in.

...i will put some pics when i can.

......the factory oems have a spacer attached to the speaker which the non dont have instead you buy some spacers and screw them on the panel door.

anyway if you google here you ll find many posts on this, and pics too.

Anything more just let me know.

After that i instaled a rear view camera. ;)
