hi all my air con compressor has packed up :( !!!! had a guy round today and after 2hours we found out that the reed valves were weak in the compressor and not suppling enough pressure to the evaperaitor (high pressure side )cheapest i can get one for is £197 does anyone know were i can get one cheaper

That sounds pretty cheap at that price! Brand new (OEM) they're around the £600 mark!!

I've just had a quote to have a new compressor supplied, fitted and gassed for £415 with 1 year warranty for my 2000 Octavia SLX TDI. The clutch plate on mine had broken up. Planning on having it done on Saturday.

The compressor part of the quote was about £190 (edit: sorry - £195 + VAT).

What compressor is on yours?. Mine's a Sanden SD7V16 model 1215. If your clutch is intact, I could get them to save the rest of my compressor, assuming the internals aren't dead. Alternatively I managed to win a used SD7V16 from a Seat Leon on ebay for under £40, intending to use the clutch from it. Probably not going to bother (as I can't seem to find anyone locally that's willing to fit it and it's not been delivered yet anyway). PM me if you're interested in either part.
