Lever in engine bay

Featured Replies

Hi every1. I have a 58 fabia 1.9 tdi and was looking at the engine bay today. Can anyone tell me what the lever is that is situated under the battery location and you can maneouver it to 3 different positions. It is attached to a cable system.?

Got a pic? It's a new one on me lol

Sounds like you're talking about the gearchange and clutch mechanisms.

Thanks every1. Are you supposed to be able to move this with your hand-thought if it was gear selector it would be a bit harder to move.I was able to move it quite freely

No it should be very easy to move.

If it's the grey coloured bit with the sprung cables attatched, thats the gear selector mech' on the top of the gearbox..this is easy to move by hand and should move up and down, side to side...if you are talking about the small black handle/lever on the side of the gearbox, then this should be left pointing straight up to 12o'clock, as this is the lock lever for the gearbox when resetting the gear change cables!
