Exhaust system warning light on - 2.0T FSI vRS

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Typically (as it's bank holiday weekend) my exhaust system warning light has just come on. Does anyone have any idea of what might be wrong, and whether the car is safe to drive?

Thanks for any help!

Matt

use ur breakdown cover?

I am sure I had this once and am trying to remember what it was. Is it the emissions warning light? If so then potentially a sensor problem. Try disconnecting your battery and reconnecting to see if it clears it. You might find other lights come on but just drive a few yards and they will clear.

Is it flashing, then constant, does it run ok

You need it scanning for fault codes and that will reveal your problem or do what my friend does in his pug 306. Puts a bit of gaffer tape over it :giggle:

Car will probably run but may go into safe mode. This light came on with me (as well as the EPC) and it was the throttle pedal that needed fixing. Car didn't die.
