Part No Req'd

Featured Replies

Hi Guys/Gals

Had the G65 sensor and associated pipework changed on Sat in hope it would fix the lack of aircon, it did, long enough for the garage to ring me and say the cars done, then when i arrived the car was back in the garage and warm air con again. AARRGGHhh!!!!

The guy plugged it in to VCDS (no Faults) and took some sort of measurements on VCDS and his air con machine (not reaching pressure?) and predicted the compressor was knackered, the garage is a vw specialist and seems to know his stuff!?

He said a new compressor was about £250+vat and about an hour to change then re-gas so approx £400 all-in. (just spent £230 on the G65 and pipework)

SO,

I thought id have a look on the bay for a 2nd hand one, there are a few but all with different part no.s, just wonderng if anyone knows which one will fit? ive had a look on my unit and it looks like the part no.s are on the bottom so could'nt see it?

any help much appreciated!!

Based on a 2007, its 1K0 820 859 QX - Those last two letters are probably for exchange items, so as long as the rest is OK should be alright. There is a remark on mine "1J0 973 702" to which I am not sure it means...

The one in post 4 is for a mk1 s3 / TT / Mk4 Golf, is my octy not based on a mk5 platform golf? surely it would have the same compressor as Mk5 NOT Mk4 cars, wouldn't it?
