annoying beeping central locking

Featured Replies

please help

my FL VRS hatch back has an annoying beep when you unlock or lock the car .. to the point where the local boy racers 206gti has the soame kind of noise on his alarm ....

i havent got maxi dot if that makes any difference

This chirp can be disabled, its designed as an audible indication that your car is locked / unlocked and works in conjunction with a quick flash of the hazard lights.

If you don't have maxidot it will need to be disabled by your local dealer, or a friendly member with VCDS...

I think it's in maxidot as ATA with a tick box. Look in the manual as it's explained there

Horses for courses - I have the lock beep enabled as I find it a useful confirmation, in addition to the indicators, to tell me it's locked successfully :)

But yes, as said changeable either via VCDS or with Maxidot on an FL model.

I have the chirp enabled for when I lock the car but it is very quiet, I think the volume can be adjusted via VCDS. I do not have options in my Maxidot to alter this myself on my pre-FL vRS.

Volume can't be adjusted via VCDS to my knowledge.

I agree though, it's a bit quiet - I preferred the more pronounced 'chirp' that was emitted when I had this feature enabled on my Fabias.
