Dear all:

If I want to flash brake lights and turn signal lights at same time during emergency brake. So I need to choose Bit0 Bit1 Bit2. Or just choose Bit0.

Thank you.

I should point out that I have absolutely zero experience with the program you are using (I presume its VCDS or whatever you call it!) but I think the Comfort blinking is the 'one touch, three blinks' indicators so I think it's just Bits 1 and 2 you'd be dealing with.

I've been debating about doing this but not sure if it will just confuse other drivers!

I *think* you can tick both boxes... although a little difficult to test :)

I don't think you can have both; the most popular with other manufacturers is activation of the hazard lights.

The only other car I've seen with flashing brake lights was a Vauxhall Vectra and that was only the high level LED's not the standard bulbs. It's very effective though as I managed to miss him :giggle:

You really have to slam on for them to work, the hazards should be easy to test, the brake lights will require a mate to follow you - just make sure he keeps his distance

Also, the hazard lights activate if the airbags are deployed but I don't recommend you trying to test this feature!

thanks for your reply

The 'usual' method is with Bit 2 selected.

Bit 1 will have the effect of doing as described in that screenshot, and flash the brake lights on and off intermittently, which I don't think is much use personally.

Personally I would do the brake lights, as it's common practise when traffic is stationary (on a motorway) to use the hazard warning lights as you slow down to warn others behind you that there is a hazard ahead, so unless they flashed at say twice the speed of normal some may just think that you are slowing down rather than braking in an emergency.

Just my 2p worth.
