Correct Engine Oil

I have a Skoda Fabia (6Y Mk1)1.9 TDI

Engine number ATD640979ATD

vehicle reg 2004.

I think this is a PD engine, but not sure about DPF.

Can anyone help correct identification?

I recently had the car serviced by Kwik Fit & they have used

Mobile 1 ESP Formular 5W - 30 engine oil.

Is this OK for my engine?

It looks like the oil they used was the newer 504/507.00 spec. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/51141-what-oils-meets-specs-vw-504-00-507-00/ This exceeds the 505.01 oil so it is perfectly OK. It is normally used on engines with long (variable) life servicing or PD engines with over 150bhp.

Yes it is correct, MOBIL have always made quality oils.

Adding this for anyone that comes across the same issue. Noticed a slightly extended crank a day or so ago, along with a few seconds worth of poor idle and then ran as normal. Checked for codes, and none showing. Checked plugs when I got home again and all ok. Checked the lpfp count and was at or around 50% at idle. No hesitation or misfires and none detected on scanner. Rail holding pressure within parameters and both lpfp and hpfp showing requested and actual pressures where they should b

Hello, recently my air conditionor kinda stopped working. In the morning or in the evening everything works just fine, normal operation. In the middle of the day, being hot outside (30 to even over 40 degrees outside temperature), when i start the car, for 10-20 seconds everything works, after that a noise like a buzz starts to hear from around the middle of the car. I’m having a issue on start-up from cold there is a noticeable lumpy idling. This hasn’t caused any massifier codes when scanning via VCDS. Last year as part of the service the sparkplugs were changes but the rough idol is getting more noticeable. My Audi had the same issue that eventually resulted in constant misfire. That was diagnosed as having a carbon build-up. I don’t want to have the same issue occurring with the Fabia. As the CTHE is direct injection and has done 41k miles I’m guessin

This is a follow up to a previous question I posed recently. I had a 2008 vRS for over 12 years and really loved it before moving on to something different. Looking to getting back into vRS ownership again and toying with the idea of finding one with the 4x4 drive train. If anyone has been able to compare the two, is there a noticeable improvement in road handling with this variant? Thanks
