Bluetooth ODBII Interface

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Just spotted this http://www.1topstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=12662 and wondered if it was any good?

I can't really afford the hundreds for a VCDS cable and software, but this one is compatible with:-

Scantool_net113win

EasyOBDII

OBD2Spy

ScanMaster-ELM

Although it doesn't state Skoda as one of the supported vehicles, would it be good on 2010 Octy Combi?

Has anyone used any of the software above - If there iany chance of bricking my car with it, no matter how remote?

Cheers

Yes they are good i have tried most of your listed software and have the same bluetooth unit but it is cheaper from Dealextreme not by much but shipping is included in the price.

They are CANbus and EOBD so will cover your cars communication protocols.

it will show and clear DTC/Faults and you can log info from the sensors as it says in the description but will not do anywhere as much as VCDS ,all depends what you want it for i suppose.

I use mine with my htc wildfire android phone with apps like Torque makes it ultra portable without having my laptop and wires every where.

No it will not brick your Ecu

Fan-bloody-tastic - I'm guessing Torque will work on a HTC Desire then? Just need to convince SWMBO that we "need" it.. like she needs a new pair of shoes emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Cheers for the info Bazaa

Got the same one from a Chinese seller on eBay, £13 delivered.

I use it with Torque on a Samsung Galaxy S, works perfectly.

Generic OBD2/EOBD on the old MK1 Octavia is questionable at best. You will get some readings (gasoline 2002+ and diesel 2004+) but fault codes won't be accurate/complete.

Here's a relating comparison which may find interesting.
