Cost of first Service?

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Yeti is coming up to its first service and I was wondering what the going rate is for the service? When I bought it I was told by Autosales in Cannock that it would be about £150. I spoke to Clock Garage in Spondon yesterday and they wanted £250+ (and probably +VAT too) which seems a little steep for essentially an oil and filter change plus some checks.

How much have you paid for it?

Thanks

Simon

We've not got ours yet but have asked re servicing and been quoted £95 incl VAT for the first one which is an 'A' service. This is for the same vehicle as yours. Time to shop around or challenge them maybe?

Mine is on variable servicing and the first one cost £190 including VaT but that also included the cost of new front wiper blades. So your original quote of £150 seems about right if it includes VaT.

In my previous experience of Skoda dealers, prices for the same service can vary considerably. I started using my present dealer when they quoted reasonably to service our Roomster. I then went on to buy my Yeti from them, so not being greedy with servicing paid them dividends in the end!

I have just called Autosales and they are estimating about £180 (they are getting me a proper price when the computer wakes up). They say its on variable service interval (20k/2y) and thus it is a 'major' service but are only replacing Oil, Oil Filter and Pollen Filter as included parts. The rest is just checks. Mine has done 20k miles in 14 months.

I rang around the three local dealers and even for the first fixed service my quotes varied between £94 - £129!

Details were as follows:

Service: 1st

Actual Mileage8,600

Type: Fixed (changed at this point from the variable factory setting)

Items changed: Oil (Platinum Synta for fixed service)), oil filter and sump plug.

Where:Darlingtons of Harlow

Price paid:£94

Comments: They also checked for ECU updates and Columbus firmware updates as part of the service. Car was washed and hoovered properly also.

I had my first service done last week at Faintree in Bridgnorth, at 19500 miles.

Cost was £141.04 including front and rear windscreen wipers (£26 + VAT)

VERY reasonable, I thought, since I was paying that for a service on the Freelander at my local village garage.

first and second services at 10000 and 20000 were £100 each at Sinclair Swansea.

There is, somewhere, a previous thread with quite a few replies on it, on this forum.

mdi will tell you, depends on programming of the brain! - look in mdi menu the last but one item on the list should give an indication!

about £135/£150      £245 is about the price of a 2nd service

Depends on your usage pattern, one of the last menu items on the multi function display gives estimated miles and date of a service.

Generally on a 2 year PCH you need to do an A service after about 12 months, then it goes back before second service.

I just paid £88 for first oil service on my 1.4 L&K, with 9500 miles on the clock. Skoda franchise dealer. I thought that was very reasonable.
