SL55 AMG compared with Octavia 4x4 !

As in, I've been lucky enough to drive one for a few days and I know you are all car enthusiasts so here goes:-

The plus points

+ Sheer, relentless power :eek:

+ Re-defines what we would term as 'good in the mid-range'. It just goes ferociously hard or extremely hard, whatever the speed.

+ Sounds like a dragster (in a nice way )

+ On an empty,private estate road we timed 70-120 in just under 8 seconds

+ Great AMG seats - the most adjustable I've ever experienced.

+ Responsive manual gear selecting or refined in drive - decide your mood.

+ Brakes seemed to stop from 80mph in 3 car lengths (not scientific I know)

The downsides :thumbdwn:

- I averaged 12mpg overall

Always thought SL55's were nice... till I went in a Brabus K8 - Lottery winnings would be going to a brabus dealer given the choice \ opportunity

Well strange predicament due to dads age and alzheimers diagnosis he shifted his car to me. Pretty damn nice car 1.8T DSG 2014 less than 20k, packed with as much as mine has and more besides like adaptive cruise, folding mirrors. Not sure I need 2 though longer term tho....useful for now though as my petrol vRS similar vintage really could do with a clutch <80k miles so I am grateful for it regardless ! Not exactly the slow option either, obviously not quite as good as a 2.0T but better eco

Hello, I have a problem with my Mk3 2016 Superb. The AC doesnt cool enough, the radiator is indeed flat and dirty, but i suspect the compressor too. Did you have this problem? How can i diagnosis it better? Thx

The Elroq was only released in October in AU and we bought the first one from the dealer after driving a pre release vehicle back in July Wife's new Elroq 130 2 weeks old has an "interesting problem" Love the car but the Au importers appear to have stripped out some feature to maybe save a few $$(Of course not, would they?) We have a 13kw solar array currently and 20kw battery bank about to be installed however currently using the supplied 2.4kw wall charger 240VAC @10A The problem: We have be

Hi everyone, I’ve got a 2021 Superb S EL. Fantastic car, very comfortable. I’m thinking of ordering a new Superb Sportline. Has anyone driven both these trims and can tell me how to compare for comfort ? I recently tried an Octavia Sportline and it was too firm for me. Every bump was felt in contrast to my Superb. I’m hoping the Superb Sportline will be ok with the DCC in comfort mode but it does have large wheels. I realise I should really get another S EL but the Sportline looks nicer in
