Featured Replies

i'm buying a set of front pads for my Felly

but i noticed the same website selling pads for a 1.6 felly but at different prices, i looked closer and one mentioned lucas calipers and the other some girling hayes ones

i have a 1998yr pacific blue Skoda Felicia 1.6 GLXi, which caliper am i likely to have, lucas or girling???

quick reply accpreicated as wanting to buy these online right now.

thanks all

and how much brake fluid do i need for a complete drain and refill, is 500ml sufficent or do i need 1ltr

you wont have the kelsey-hayes calipers, they will be the lucas ones, you can identify which calipers you have by the type of brake hoses fitted, the lucas ones use a bulkhead fitting at the caliper

plus I've never seen a felicia with anything apart from the Lucas calipers from new. I would say 500ml would just about do it. I tend to push the pistons back then suck the fluid out of the resiviour and replace with fresh and bleed thru then

the other thing i've found too is to release the bleed nipples on the calipers whilst pushing the caliper piston back, i had a problem with mine where the seals in the master cylinder got inverted and made it go all funny and doing this prevents it.
