VCDS for FL Octavia, Evesham/Stratford/Cheltenham/Redditch Area?

Featured Replies

As it says, really... just wondering if there's a kindly soul within easy reach who knows how to switch CH/LH from xenons to fogs, and also enable the cornering fogs on a 2009 FL Octavia. I tried my local dealers (Powick and Redditch) but they both looked at me stupidly, although one did at least manage to switch the DRLs on, so I shouldn't complain too much.

I checked the list, and the Stratford contact has vanished (although he didn't reply to my last email, so I guess the two things are probably related!) - so it looks like south Brum, Brizzle or Oxford is as close as it gets.

Any thoughts/volunteers? Beer in exchange, of course, that goes without saying...

Thank 'ee koindly.

I'll be passing kind of, on the M5, on Saturday evening (northbound M50/M5) and Sunday evening (southbound M5 only), if I can help.

i did mine dead easy.

Sunday might be a go-er - thank you for the kind offer, I'll switch to PM and see if times work out for anyone/everyone/either of us.

Looks like I could be helping here, so a quick guide of where / how to achieve what the OP wants will save me time rummaging on VCDS when I plug my laptop in to his car.

You're a good man, Jason. Thanks again.

I've never looked at VCDS ("not actually having it" being the main reason - a situation unlikely to change while my wife gets concerned about me updating firmwares on my satnav, my 'phone, the media PC, and so on, so she gets very unamused at the thought of bricking the car!) so I don't know how the screens vary between versions - or, indeed, between cars. However, these at least appear to be helpful:

http://briskoda.net/...s-or-fog-lamps/

Does that give some clues?

Shouldn't be a problem. Should just be a case of fiddling with the long coding in the central convenience section. :)

Any objection if i come along and see how its done and what I may be missing out on? If Ok, just let me know where. Thanks.

Sorry, Jeeves, but you'd have had a hell of a drive for no reason - the meeting fell through, unfortunately (Jason - I hope you got home okay in the end, thanks again for trying!).

So, bumping this thread... anyone? I'll cast the net out to Oxford, south Birmingham and similar if required. Go on, you know you want to.

Failing that, I wonder if there's a middleishofthecountry meet at some point. I could turn up with my entirely stock Octavia and be totally bemused about talk of detailing, eibachs and DMF removal emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Thanks for the update. I'll keep an eye out as I spend half my life near The Lenches (so would have been ideal as I'm there just now).
