buzzer inside dash

Featured Replies

ok so i can get a set of working dials cheap and wondered if its possible to strip them down and remove the buzzer and re-solder it into my dials? ive had no buzzer working in the car since ive owned it. i.e. fuel light noise, leaving lights on. etc, so would this be easy? is it just one buzzer?

another note. is this buzzer connected to making indicators tick? as they havnt ever ticked either thought it was related to the buzzer but maybe this is the hazard switch relay?

Can't say your modification would work one way or the other.

When my 2005 Fabia VRS buzzer stopped working whilst car was still under its 3 year warranty, they replaced the speedometer.

Apparently the buzzer is integrated somehow (beyond my knowledge) within the speedometer electronics, and was replaced as said.

Can only suggest getting buzzers from another car, where the buzzer is an isolated unit (some Renault models) and wiring different components to each buzzer in turn.

Alternatively get a replacement speedometer.

OH! not sure now (so long ago) but think SKODA recalibrated my two key fob units.

Just enjoy the silence, I get sick of that buzzer, especially in winter when it dips below snowflake temperature, then you run out of screenwash followed by diesel, getting beeped at all the time.

Did same on my mates-nedded a new dash panel.

yeh new dash panel + coding = expensive

want it done cheap. so soldering a buzzer on would be easier

Let us know if you have success with the soldering, (with pictures if possible.)

Thanks.
