The mods cost circa £8K (i haven't worked it out exact but with a quick calculation to the nearest £500 it's about that)

I did a guide on here for fitting the catvision and how to spray paint it black. I also did one for the L&K Door handle lights. But i will do a new one when i get it

Info for the mods:

S3 Intercooler fits you just need a forge Alu pipe joiner

Neuspeed intercooler pipe fits

Neuspeed Turbo Discharge pipe - I have bought the correct one already as i sold the TFSi one

ITG Intake is for the TSi as i bought it when i sold the EVOMS

A haz dun ma reesurch boss

thanks Carl, just looked up your old guide there for Catvision, not sure how I missed it! Cant seem to find one for the door handle illumination though, so looking forward to that.

with regards to your parts, I just thought that you still had your bits from your TFSI, just thought Id try to help out, sorry about that!

Im on the lookout for a ITG or Carbonio for my TSI , can I ask, where did you get your ITG? everywhere Ive seen has so far been around £300, which I cant bring myself to spend on an induction kit!

also do you think the Intercooler is really necessary in our Climate?

No need to apologise mate. Glad to see you had my best interests at heart :giggle:

Some of the bits are from the TFSi (Cooler, ARB's, R32 Kit, Neuspeed Intercooler Pipe) and the rest i have bought or will be buying before the car gets here

IMHO after having the Cooler on the TFSi and seeing the effect it has i can highly recommend it. Means you can run higher timing safely and on RR days my car would consistently put out max BHP after several runs. Whereas with the OEM cooler after 2-3 runs you start suffering heat soak.

You better sit down for this

I got the ITG intake complete with a used filter (only for 18k miles though) and a brand spanking new still sealed in it's wrapper filter for.................... £200  I was just in the right place at the right time when it became available.

I wouldn't recommend the CAI unless your going to map the car. But if you are then i definately would just to help it breath better. It's not necessary but i would do it mainly for peace of mind.

Whack a bloody k04 on the new one and have done Carl ffs lol

Maybe i will ;)

Or maybe i won't :p

Impressive stuff!

Watched a similar vid on Youtube a while back but hadnt realised you were a brisky member

Holy carp! That's some top end!

What sort of revs were you pulling at that speed?

D'ye reckon it would have gone further with longer gearing or was the wind slowing you badly at that speed? I'd be s****ing bricks about the tyres capabilities at that velocity!!

£200 , lol, wouldnt you like to try a different induction this time round, ill take that one of your hands sure :giggle:

I will definately be mapping the car, I have a Shark Stage1 (tweaked to be a little softer) sitting here ready to go, also a full Milltek Resonated cat back. All I need is the Intake and a Downpipe and I can go straight to stage 2 if I really wanted(any idea does anyone offer a suitable DP/Sportcat solution for the TSI yet?), although I plan to do that next year after I get bored with stage 1

Tyres where fine. I have had 171mph according to satnav but that was on a slight downhill whereas the 168mph was flat. 171mph was redlining 6th so unless you change the gearbox you ain't getting anymore.

The car got to 160mph no struggle but to get the extra 8mph took a good 2-3 miles. So to do anything faster on the flat you would need more power to get through the wind resistance. My car was only ever stage 2+ on a k03s turbo. I did revert back to stage 2 though which is what the 270bhp was achieved on. When I did 168/171 I was stage 2.

Don't think 171 is bad going really :D

Pretty reasonable for a humble family hatch ;)

Can only imagine the wind noise at that speed lol

Car or driver? :p

(Only speaking for ones self of course  )

Impressive figures

Did you remove the limiter to achieve that sort of top end speed?

What limiter? :)

isn't there a top speed limiter thingy to "prevent" the car to go faster, on mine is 155mph take the limiter off and go faster

Only RS Audi's are limited in the VAG range ;)

Nope

Ditch the Nissan - simples :D

That's why I like good owners clubs, always learning something new

I still crying thinking of selling the nissan but it sounds like I could have some fun with the new motor :D

I just can't remember where i heard ( could have been a tuner) but apparently the standard ECU map is limited to 150mph on the 2.0T. You'd probably be lucky to get past 150mph standard anyway. Could be bull....

Bull I don´t think soo.

All latest VW group models come restricted to a certain RPM.

My 1.6 tdi does not go, 5 speed gearbox, over 3750-3800RPM at a top speed 197km/h.

Going down hill you can notice the engine "cutting" off

And any RPM restriction that may be in place couldn't be removed or altered by different ECU mapping?? emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

I'd say the evidence in this thread was pretty conclusive.....

Yes it can except for a few models like the 1.6tdi or the 2.0 170HP with the EC16 siemens ECU( I think)
